Go through contracts thoroughly
Never committee or get yourself into something, that you do not know anything about especially things that involve large sums of money and contracts. When trying to purchase a house or get into a contract with a dealer, make sure that you have understood everything in the contract. If something is not clear, make sure to check with your agent dealer. Get good advisers, those that can help you understand paper work well, before taking big steps.
Consider location and security
Security is paramount, getting or purchasing a house is a long-term investment. That means security has to be considered. Take a walk on places you will need to buy houses from and inspect the surrounding, check on the neighbors you will possibly have in the future in case you decide to buy a house there. Inquire from them, whether they have a watch program and how safe the neighborhood is especially at night.
